Anna & Sean

Blogging can sometimes get pushed to the side during the busy season but I knew it would be a crime not to share this amazing elopement I got to capture last year in Ubud Bali!

Now probably one of the most daunting things you can do as a photographer is to capture a fellow photographers big day. Considering Anna is a super talented wedding and family photographer and runs her own successful business Pixie Rouge Photography, it was understandable that initially, I was a little nervous. Luckily for me, she just happens to be the ultimate free spirit and a true bohemian at heart so my fears were soon put to rest!

Anna and Sean have been together for quite some time and had made the decision to elope to Bali with only their closest friends and family. It was here on the outskirts of Ubud that they hired a beautiful Airbnb villa surrounded by thick rainforest which formed the location for their magical ceremony. The day had earlier kicked off with Anna and little Frankie enjoying a flower bath whilst the boys set up and moved around furniture for the ceremony. Anna not only did her own makeup but even ended up in the kitchen wearing her wedding dress preparing lunch and in my opinion, it doesn't get much more chilled than that! We all sat down for a delicious lunch before heading off into the Ubud monkey forest to take some more photos. After the portraits, we returned to the villa where the ceremony took place on the balcony under a canopy of massive palm trees. Boy did that one pull on the heartstrings...there wasn't a dry eye in the house when Sean regaled us with their love story! Dinner afterwards was booked at one of their favourite restaurants in Ubud called Watercress with our driver dropping us of a few blocks out so we could walk the rest of the way. During this time we got to take some more pics, drink champagne in back alleys and even collect some free hugs from strangers along the way!

This day was so them and whilst it was anything but traditional it just felt so right! I really can't thank these two and all their family and friends enough for this experience and for allowing me to capture these beautiful memories for them....I'm truly a lucky girl!
